September 2018 in numbers

Our stats for September!  And it’s all possible because of YOU!

Vaccinations: We had a very busy month for vaccinations (mainly because of our rabies outreach in Klipheuwel) and our adoptions did much better! 11 animals found their happy homes.

Vet bills: As you can see, vet bills went up a bit, particularly the ‘drugs and vaccines’.
This includes things like pain treatments, vaccines and dewormers but also those necessary things no one thinks about but which all costs money like:

  • Syringes and needles (197 vaccinations = at least 197 syringes & needles!)
  • Dip, flea/tick treatment and shampoo (we’re fighting major tick & flea infestations in the township at the moment)
  • Treatments for upset tummies, especially Darrows (for rehydration) and Protexin (probiotics) – we go through in large quantities of these.

Kennels: 6 kennels were kindly donated and placed.  Hopefully we will be able to place more in October.

Sterilisations: We did less sterilisations but we’re planning a couple of sterithons, if we can raise enough funds – holding thumbs.

Thank you, on behalf of every animal helped, for your support and contributions. It really DOES make an enormous difference. You change lives. x
